At Church in Najile

Last Sunday the girls made their first appearance at church in Najile.  We've been putting off this ordeal for some time as we didn't want to deal with the gawking people or the girls' cries.  However, the time had come.  People had begun to ask us almost daily when the girls were going to church and it was clear we could avoid it no longer.

Originally, we had hoped to take the girls to church two weeks earlier, however the church service was a big fundraiser for new church chairs.  Between over 500 people who don't know us being at church and the loudspeakers blaring horrendous keyboard playing that could be heard from our house, we decided to take a pass.  The following week church was mysteriously cancelled due to, as we later found out, a celebration for a local seminarian who just finished school.  So finally, on week 3 we decided we were taking the plunge.

Overall, the girls did well.  There were only about 50 people at church most of whom had already seen the babies so it wasn't too big a spectacle.  We went up front and said hello and everybody was very happy to say hello to the babies.  After offering we peaced out since the girls were getting tired and that was that.

In the future, we'll continue to take the girls to church and hopefully they'll continue to do well.  They love music and couldn't stop watching their mom sing in the church choir.  More than that, its a simple joy to worship as a family, something we hope to do for years to come.
